An exciting opportunity for an experienced Programme Director to join our newly established Global Programme Management Office (PMO), End Market. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of our Global PMO, you will be an industry renowned leader, who will be the face of AECOM to our key infrastructure and developer clients whilst being responsible for leading the pursuit and delivery of major projects.
AECOM has a strong portfolio of growth projects in the area of High-Speed Rail, Transit, Underground and Overground. We are seeking a deep expertise in leading on Programme Delivery in this key sector to help realise our key strategic objectives in offering our clients core advisory solutions. This role will be key to setting up and delivering end-to-end projects and programmes, working closely with clients from a Business Development perspective, implementing best practice and working with AECOM’s project excellence teams.
Responsibilities
+ AECOM representative, Client liaison and management
+ Leads the delivery (time, cost, quality) of the design, construction and operations programs
+ Leads the implementation and maintains a very high level of Safety awareness and ensure the project complies with all requirements.
+ Leads the administration of the applicable contracts.
+ Developing and maintaining a communications plan for all project stakeholders and regularly updating in conjunction with the project team and the client
+ Presents progress and package issues to client team. Leads the production and reporting on the overall project program and actions required.
+ Communicating the critical path activities that will influence key milestones
+ Ensuring critical internal milestones are incorporated into the program
+ Discuss changes to the scope of work with the Client and key stakeholders.
+ Responsible for following up on instructions & commitments associated with the project
+ Establishes Project Execution Plan, Health & Safety Plan, Quality Control Plan and other documents in relation to our scope
+ Establishes the program requirements for all areas of the project and monitors site staff performance
+ Plans, directs, supervises and controls the execution of all technical, fiscal and administrative functions of the project and the site team
+ Assigns responsibility to key subordinates in their respective fields of expertise
+ Provides input to performance reviews and develop plans for subordinates
+ Work with other managers, project engineers and discipline Heads to develop budgets, schedules and plans for the various elements of the project
+ Establishes internal weekly meetings to review project status and formulate action items
+ Represent the company in Client meetings
+ Commercial understanding and administration of the project operating and legal documents
+ Production of project reports including, monthly and quarterly reports
+ Ensures compliance with AECOM corporate governance and Integrated Management System
Minimum Requirements
+ Significant senior executive project management experience in Building and Construction or Infrastructure projects, specifically in Rail
+ Significant experience in working across geographies, sectors and within a matrix led organisation
+ You will continually contribute to harmonious client relationships at the project and market level
+ You will be an effective leader with tenacity and drive who is looking to achieve outstanding results and most importantly, be someone that enjoys sharing knowledge, supporting ideas and encouraging others to develop their skills and experience
+ Recent experience and knowledge of national and local government processes, procedures and codes and regulations preferred but not required.
+ Experience in delivery and execution of large-scale projects with a strong background in start-up, execution and handover of major projects.
+ Experience leading major government and/or semi-government international programs and projects with a proven track record of delivering project excellence in direct project manager role.
+ Experience of direct oversight of the following functions: engineering, project controls contracts, procurement, health, safety, security & environmental, risk management, financial management, quality assurance and quality control.
+ Record of engagement with a wide range of utility providers and commercial and public sector stakeholders.
+ Proven track record of instituting continuous improvement and of supporting capacity building / talent development.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant Engineering field (i.e. Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural etc.) and/ or Project or Construction Management.
+ Specific demonstrated experience in project and program management, PMP, APM or membership of a recognized professional institution preferred
+ Membership of a Chartered Institution (MICE/ MCIOB/ MRICS) preferred.
+ Preferred Professional Engineering License in United States
