What You Will Do:
- The Payroll Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire global payroll process for employees and contractors in the US and internationally, and ensuring timely and accurate processing for all payroll related transactions for the covered regions
- This role will play a key role in the implementation of global payroll providers that integrate with Workday, while designing processes and procedures that drive success
- This role will generate payroll reports and conduct routine audits, partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of payroll information, ensure established processes are completed and internal controls are followed, and make sure employees and partner inquiries are satisfied
- Perform daily payroll department operations for employees in international countries, including collecting, documenting, updating employee data, reviewing the data, and working through any outstanding issues with internal and external partners to make sure it is all ready for payroll processing
- Perform reconciliation and audit of payroll files (personnel data, benefits, HSA account funding, wages, taxes, etc.) on a payroll cycle, quarterly, and at end of the year basis
- Manage workflow to ensure incoming and outgoing payroll data is processed timely and accurately
- Partner with internal departments to ensure all relevant data is collected on time for payroll processing
- Process all relevant information for the period changes, update payroll worksheets and systems, and prepare a processed register for a review
- Work with Accounting Team to ensure success and timely posting of payroll journal entries into the accounting system
- Understand FLSA, tax & wages, proration calculation, holiday pay, benefits, bonus, and other processing basics for US and international countries’ payroll
- Assist with payroll reports preparation
- Respond to employees and internal & external teams when there are payroll inquiries, including and not limited to leave, retirement, benefit deductions, earnings, payment details, vacation accruals, tax withholdings, etc.
- Partner with HR and other internal departments on system projects related to Payroll
- Perform other duties and assignments upon request
You’ll Succeed With:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or business-related concentration
- 5+ years of processing experience with a focus on US multi-state and international payroll
- Experience working with PEO vendors and international payroll vendors
- International country payroll certifications preferred (GPA or other international country certifications)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical approach
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, and prioritize competing workloads
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to respond to payroll inquiries with professionalism, kindness, and empathy
- Strong MS Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, etc.)
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Ability to learn and work with payroll systems, Paylocity, and Workday experience preferred
- Have a strong desire to learn and thrive in a dynamic and changing environment, experience working across the company with teams of varied sizes and from different fields
- Payroll experience with Canada and EMEA regions with a capacity and desire to learn about other countries.
