Bring your GIS technical expertise to the Snohomish County Public Works Engineering Services Survey Group as a GIS Analyst, Senior to support the Public Works Asset Maintenance and Management System (AMMS) as well as providing essential overall Geographic Information System (GIS) support.
About the Position
As a GIS Analyst, Senior you will provide significant internal efficiencies through developing, analyzing, and maintaining a wide variety of GIS information and layers important to the AMMS, Public Works Asset Inventory and other Public Works GIS programs.
Snohomish County uses ESRI’s ArcMAP and ArcGIS Online software as our GIS platform and integrates the GIS data with Cartegraph software for our asset management. As GIS Analyst, Senior you will help integrate our GIS data with Cartegraph, create automated geoprocesses, improve existing data, build web apps and be an indispensable part of the GIS Asset Maintenance and Management System team in collecting and documenting all of Snohomish County’s road assets including road striping, sidewalks, guardrails, signs, pavement, curbs and more. Hundreds of Public Works employees use the information this team collects to perform maintenance of Snohomish County’s road system.

SUPERVISION
Employees receive supervision from a supervisor or manager, while team members provide guidance. The employee carries out assignments on his/her own initiative and receives additional, specific instructions when relevant. Work is performed with considerable independent and may be checked to assure adherence to instructions and conformance with established departmental policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The work is performed in an office environment with some field trips to locations throughout the county for the purpose of data collection, quality control, and to increase understanding of projects. Prepares for and provides GIS support during emergency situations including floods, earthquakes, and storms. When on call, employees may be required to carry a County mobile phone, have connectivity and be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
