Bridgestone Americas and its subsidiaries develop, manufacture and market a wide range of Bridgestone, Firestone and associate brand products to address the needs of a broad range of customers and industries.JOB DESCRIPTIONPositions in this sub-family are responsible for the efficient transportation and distribution of raw materials and finished products to customers, retailers and to other facilities within the organization. Activities include selecting the most efficient transportation procedures according to cost, timing, and handling frame-work; establishing and monitoring product delivery schedules; tracking, recording and following-up shipments; managing relationships with transport contractors; loading, unloading and transporting products; and maintaining the vehicle and equipment fleet.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As the Fleet General Manager, you will have oversight and support of private and dedicated fleet operations at all Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO) DCs
    • Establish core KPI's and monitor vendor compliance. Implement any necessary countermeasures for service or cost related variances.
    • Insure route coverage and customer service requirements are met by servicing fleets with DC involvement.
    • Lead regular weekly operational meetings with dedicated fleet providers to align on priorities, service, and capacity.
    • Lead / manage dedicated fleet implementations according to established timelines and objectives.
    • Conduct monthly reviews with each DC transportation manager to review all key cost and service metrics.
    • Review Dedicated Fleet Tracking and On Time Compliance in FourKites, and work with Dedicated Fleets to achieve on time and shipping tracking consistency targets in FourKites.
  • You will provide corporate level support and direction on all transportation operations at BATO DCs that includes all aspects of shipment prioritization, load planning strategy, fleet and carrier routing, and meeting customer service level requirements.
  • You will serve as the corporate transportation operations leader for BATO sales, BSRO, customer support groups, and occasional direct customers serviced from BATO DC network
    • Work with servicing DCs and providers to resolve service issue escalations.
    • Maintain, update, and distribute master delivery schedules for key customer groups including TireHub, Dealer Tire, and Costco
    • Facilitate requests and coordinate all new customer location setups with servicing DCs insuring capacity commitments to customer can be met.
  • Responsible for DC Transportation Budgets and Monthly Expense management for fleet and all other transportation modes utilized in the BATO DC network.
    • Current private fleet activity is more intense but will evolve with transition from private fleet to dedicated fleets.
  • Review vendor / provider invoicing and provide necessary approvals for timely payments.
  • Support strategic Logistics initiatives and projects with requested transportation and fleet inputs and collaboration.
  • Oversight of private to dedicated equipment transitions, leases, and terminations.
  • Ownership of short to mid-term (1-3 years) execution of functional strategy and the operational direction of the department
QUALIFICATIONSBachelor degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business or related 10+ years of relevant transportation, distribution, operations, and fleet management experience 7+ years management or leadership experience highly preferred Exposure to lean and continuous improvement initiatives Strong analytical and negotiation skills
