JOB SUMMARY:

Performs mechanical and equipment repair and troubleshooting work on facilities equipment like man-

lifts, electric carts, gas-powered off-road grounds vehicles, trailers, small construction equipment like

backhoes and tractors. Work involves coordinating the maintenance, delivery/pickup, quality control, and

preventative maintenance of this equipment. Works under moderate supervision, with moderate latitude

for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Verifies and conducts onsite inspections, tests, and reviews of equipment for quality control and
preventive maintenance programs.
  • Investigates complaints, documents findings, and conducts quality assurance for safety
compliance.
  • Keeps customers informed about repairs and maintenance status of equipment.
  • Performs proper inventory control of parts and tools.
  • Orders parts, materials, and equipment.
  • May rebuild replaceable service units.
  • Prepares, submits, and maintains records of work orders and parts issued.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 Years’ experience with mechanical/battery-based equipment (i.e., mowers, carts, lifts)
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of small engine/battery maintenance and repairs.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and potential hazards, of servicing procedures and repair
techniques, and of various types of equipment and their related applications.
  • Skill in the use of tools and in the assembly, operation, and repair of various machines and
systems.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to drive large vehicles while either towing or pulling a trailer.

Conditions of Employment:
