DescriptionUnder direction from the Coffee Shop Lead, this position assists the Coffee Shop area of the Recreation Center.
- Manage and maintain equipment in the Coffee Shop
- Maintain positive customer relations specifically in the Coffee Shop area and throughout the Recreation Center
- Remain current with all certifications, trends in industry, and safety standards
- Promote a marketing plan for the ongoing development of the Coffee Shop
- Conform to established program budget(s), monitor expenditures, and provide assistance for budget development and cost control activities
- Maintain accurate records of inventory; and resolve discrepancies when they occur
- Assist in preparation of reports and other evaluation methods
- Perform other duties as required
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain Arizona Food Handlers' Card/Certification within one (1) month of employment
- Knowledge of and ability to apply marketing practices
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Ability to maintain positive community and working relationships
- Competency in the use of MS Office Software
Preferred
- High School diploma or GED
- State issued Driver's License
- Experience as a Barista or any food and beverage services
Criteria/Conditions
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
- Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
- Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
- Work is mostly performed in an indoor setting
- Occasionally work may be performed in a plant or outdoor setting
- Personal protective equipment including climbing harness, climbing helmet, gloves, safety glasses and/or other protective equipment is to be worn as required
