Receptionist & Office Assistant - Rhode Island
M. Solomon Casket Company is a family owned and operated business based in Cranston, RI since 1908 with 6 locations from Pennsylvania to Maine. We provide a variety of products to funeral homes across the region. Our business is founded on the tenets of excellent customer service, superior products and reliability.
We are looking to hire a Customer Service Representative with office administrative responsibilities that has great verbal and written communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and is comfortable in a fast paced environment.
You are a great fit for this role if you have 2- 3 years experience responding to customer inquiries by primarily telephone and email regarding product and services offered, incoming orders, billing or product delivery details with accuracy and efficiency. You work with a sense of urgency to solve customer requests and ensure members of the team across multiple functions are kept informed. A plus if you have experience with daily office tasks surrounding product inventory management, order entry, order fulfillment, or fleet management.

Receptionist Responsibilities
- Act as the primary receptionist for the company providing great customer service via telephone, email or in-person interactions to resolve problems and requests
- Develop strong product knowledge and understanding of company protocols in order to serve customers efficiently and effectively
- Identify and assess customers’ service needs and work collaboratively gather information from other departments in order solve problems
- Build sustainable relationships and trust with customers through open and proactive communication
- Work closely with the office staff, sales representatives and warehouse staff to perform daily duties
- Manage local accounts payables
Operations Responsibilities
- Maintenance of driver and fleet compliance files
- Coordinate with warehouse managers to maintain materials, equipment, and supplies for the warehouses' daily needs
- Support Warehouse Managers and Operations Manager in fleet management (i.e. purchasing, servicing, state inspections and registrations of vehicles)
- Manage inventory and order fulfillment / shipping of ancillary product lines such as jewelry and urns
- Assist office manager and company leadership on key projects around HR, Accounting, Marketing or Sales Operations
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3+ years experience in an high paced office environment
- A plus if proficient with Google Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive)
- A plus if proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Previous work experience in inventory management, order entry, order fulfillment, or fleet management a plus
- Experience in the funeral service industry a plus
Work Hours and Pay:
- Monday- Friday 7:30-4p
