Front Desk Assistant - SG Bike Repair Details

University of Florida - Gainesville, FL

Employment Type : Full-Time

Position Specific Responsibilities:

  • Operate the front counter area and serve as cashier on point of sale register
  • Close Bike Repair shop and reconcile daily reports
  • Maintain, organize, and inventory all equipment and workspaces within Bike Repair
  • Monitor Bike Repair for vandalism and functionality, and reports any Bike Repair issues or equipment failures to the Supervisor.
  • General clerical and maintenance duties including: answering phones, checking voicemails, picking up trash as needed, cleaning counter area
  • Communicate with supervisors, noting problems that arise during shifts, equipment failures and other issues that affect the smooth operation of the Bike Repair.
  • Complete all training requirements upon being hired in a timely fashion
  • Ability to commit to working 10-20 hours per week
  • Other duties as assigned

Expected Salary:

$12.00/hour



Minimum Requirements:
  • This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.

  • Demonstrate a desire and willingness to learn in a fast-paced team-oriented environment

  • Establish an exemplary work ethic by being dependable, productive, paying attention to details and maintaining effective communication.

  • Participate in all scheduled meetings, trainings and evaluations

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate previous experience with customer service
  • Proficient with verbal and written communication
  • Exhibit the ability to handle money transactions correctly and without error
