This is a full time position. Must be available for both 1st and 2nd shift hours including weekends. Starting Wage $16.00 an hour.

SUMMARY

Coordinates front desk activities of hotel and resolves problems arising from guests’ complaints, reservation and room assignment activities and unusual requests and inquiries by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Assigns duties and shifts to front desk associates and observes performances to ensure adherence to hotel policies and established operating procedures.
  • Confers and cooperates with the other departments to ensure coordination of activities.
  • Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services.
  • Advises guests of available activities such as swimming, tennis, basketball and other sports.
  • Receives and processes advance registration payments.
  • Stocking and checking out guests in the Market.
  • Greets, registers and assigns rooms to guests in a friendly manner.
  • Issue room keys
  • Provides room directions to guest(s).
  • Transmits and receives telephone messages.
  • Ensures shift checklist is complete.
  • Keeps record of room availability and guests’ accounts.
  • Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services; registration of guests; and shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
  • Computes bill; collects payment, and makes change for guests.
  • Makes restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservation, and arranges for tours.
  • Posts charges such as room, food, liquor or telephone to ledger.
  • Deposits guests’ valuables in hotel safe or safe deposit box.
  • Arranges for special services for guests, upon request.
  • Performs additional duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to nine months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
