Ebenezer is offering a unique opportunity for you to earn a CNA certificate and a Nursing Assistant Job. We will pay for the cost of CNA course, state NA exam, and provide you with wages while taking the CNA course.

Certified Nursing Assistants are an integral part of our Ebenezer Skilled Nursing Communities, as they provide seniors with personal cares and support with their daily living activities.
The Nursing Assistant course is partially online, provided by LeadingAge MN-OnTrack Nursing Assistant training, powered by Edu Care. Though the curriculum portion is online Ebenezer’s NA educator instructor will support your learning by requiring you to come in person and use our laptops onsite to take the course in Edina, MN. The course finishes with CNA skills training in Edina and the required 16 hours of CNA clinical hours at one of our Skilled Nursing Facility locations in either Bloomington or Edina. Those hired into this CNA class and CNA job are expected to stay on pace with course and must pass Ebenezer’s nursing assistant course by March 4, 2022.
Upon passing our CNA course you will start immediately in a Nursing Assistant job at one our Skilled Nursing (Transitional Care Units/Long term care) locations in either Bloomington, Burnsville, Edina, or Minneapolis. Determination of the that specific location, shifts, and number of hours will be discussed during initial recruiter interview and final job offer! Ebenezer typically has a variety of Straight Days, Evenings, or Nights shifts for CNA’s. Each CNA position has a weekend and holiday rotation. Benefit eligible at 60 + hours in two weeks and partial benefits at part-time 32-59 hours in two weeks.

  Passing the State Nursing Assistant exam and getting to get on the MN Nursing Assistant registry is required within 4 months of hire date. We will help get you registered and pay for this exam.
• With acceptance into the NA course/Job; it is expected that employment with Ebenezer will be at a min for at least one (1) year.

To be considered applicants must attend and participate in ALL CNA class dates below: To be considered applicants must attend and finish ALL classes/curriculum by dates below: Monday- Feb 21, 2022 NEW Employee Orientation Day VIA Zoom 10:00-11:30 am Feb 21-25 Nursing Assistant course: Taken from home with online modules* guided by CNA Instructor. Feb 25 you will need to come to Edina to take proctored exams in person. Feb 28- March 2 CNA In-person skills training at 7505 Metro Blvd Suite 100, Edina, MN 55439; Classes will be 7:30am-4:00pm March 3-4 CNA clinical hours at Skilled Nursing Care Center in either Bloomington or Edina, MN. Clinicals will start 5:45 am and end by 3:00pm.
Transfer (current) employees will have a different start /effective date, but will attend the orientation day and the two-week OnTrack class dates as noted aboveResponsibilities/Job Description:

• Assists resident based on individual care plan with personal cares such as; bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, showers and responds to call lights
• Under direction of Nurse provides; glucose monitoring, medication passing/administration, temperatures, and blood pressure
• Observes residents and reports status to appropriate staff in a clear and concise manner
• Chart or document in electronic medical record system
• See to order and cleanliness in rooms and work areas, reports malfunctioning equipment to maintenance department, and answers phones in a timely manner

Qualifications:

• Must accept a nursing assistant position at one of Ebenezer's four (4) LTC/TCU locations.
• Completion and passing of Ebenezer’s Nursing Assistant Course by March 4, 2022
• MN Nursing Assistant registry needs to be completed within 4 months (or sooner) of hire date
• Must be comfortable using computers; in order to complete our Online portion of the Nursing Assistant course using an educational computer software program.
• Must have access to computer to use outside of scheduled classroom times.
• Must be willing to commit to employment with Ebenezer for at least 1 year after start date.
• If current Ebenezer or Fairview employee must have satisfactory performance record and have been in current position at least 6 months.

  • Ability to work with a diverse and geriatric population
  • Ability to communicate effectively with empathy and compassion for others
  • Experience working in a patient support role (HHA, PCA, DSP, NA, Resident Assistant) or a healthcare setting or healthcare education
  • Work experience in a customer service setting
