Providing hope through practical means; encouraging peace through understanding July 28, 2022 Job Announcement FOOD SERVICE COOK I (Culinary Specialist) Part-Time 20-Hours per week - Pay Rate - $18.00-20:00 per hour (DOE) with opportunity for increase after 30-day satisfactory performance. Generous paid vacation and personal leave included. Position Summary: You will join as a team member of the Dining with Dignity program. As a Culinary Specialist, you will lead in preparing two dinners and two breakfasts weekly for up to 150-200 servings for each meal period. Prepared food is developed into take-out type meals Your will also be responsible for organizing food and supplies, planning and preparing meals, serving meals when necessary, and maintaining work areas, equipment and appliances in a safe and sanitary condition. Six meal periods are prepared and served each week, Monday through Thursday. The Dining With dignity program was established in 1994 as a meal program to benefit the poor and homeless population as an effort to reduce food insecurity in the downtown neighborhood. Shalom provides thousands of free meals each month.
