Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for exceeding the customer expectations by providing them with friendly, prompt and attentive service that is tailored to the customers preference;
- Take guests to their assigned table, deliver, presents menus to all guests and Inform guests of specials/feature items;
- Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions/services;
- Required to have an extensive knowledge of our food and drink menu and be able to recommend, up-sell and reinforce the customers orders. Must know all major food allergens in any dish that contains one;
- Recognize and cultivate regular guests and repeat business. Improve the guest experience by interacting, connecting, and ensuring needs are met. Use guests names regularly throughout the dining experience;
- Ensure drinks are served immediately and according to specifications. Follow up on any needs or corrections;
- Responsible for knowing and implementing all HOP-specialized galley terminology, plating, menu items and procedures according to company standards;
- Ensures that service times for food are consistently met;
- Run food orders from the pick-up window promptly regardless of which server placed the order. Ensure great looking and great tasting food & drinks are delivered to our Guests at lightning speed;
- Check orders for accuracy/special instructions and review those orders with the guest prior to hand-off to ensure satisfaction;
- Observe restaurant diners to ensure that guests are satisfied with food, beverages and service. Immediately recognizes and responds to any guest needs and/or requests;
- Respond to guest concerns/complaints and correct errors or resolve complaints while maintaining a positive attitude, escalating to management when necessary;
- Communicate to the manager on duty any and all situations where a guest may express concern or dissatisfaction with any aspect of the dining experience;
- Keep the tables free of dirty dishes and empty glasses through pre-bussing. Clean all spills immediately and place all trash in proper receptacles;
- Correctly presents the guest check at appropriate point in service sequence. Ensure all items are rung up and all payments are processed timely, accurately, and correctly. Maintain the confidentiality of guests' information;
- Thank each guest for their visit and invite them to return in the near future;
- Clean and reset tables promptly. Clean chairs, booths, and surrounding carpet;
- Responsible for answering the telephone in a timely, pleasant and courteous manner. Correctly take, confirm and enter To Go orders in Point of Sale System;
- Package ToGo food orders/products accurately and with proper condiments to ensure minimal waste;
- Taking orders outside and delivering food outside to customers and to delivery drivers car for CarSide and CurbSide service;
- Practice teamwork by assisting fellow employees to enhance our guests dining experience. Assist throughout the restaurant by bussing tables, deliver food and beverages to the table. Team work is essential and required by all team members;
- Obtains station assignments from host or manager on duty at the start of the work shift;
- Responsible for correctly completing all assigned opening, closing and side work duties in a timely manner. Ensure complete and proper check out procedures;
- Responsible for moving, removing, storing and properly setting up out door canopies. Outdoor canopies must be secured and tied to the ground anchors;
- Set up all beverage/ food equipment and ensure it is clean and well-maintained. Report any equipment failure and/or safety hazards to management immediately;
- Ensure that Expo/Beverage area is clean and sanitary according to company standards and state regulated health code;
- Practice positive personal hygiene and cleanliness habits during all work shifts;
- Restock, organize walk-in cooler, freezer, and dry store areas. Ensure that all the necessary stock is being replenished during the shift;
- Communicate effectively and listen attentively to supervisors, employees, vendors and guests;
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business;
- Maintain an exceptional personal record of punctuality and attendance;
- Consistently perform all duties in a responsible and efficient manner;
- Other duties as assigned.

- Work involves moderate exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises; and
- Chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm may be present in foods or beverages sold or served here.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent reaching above waist, chest and shoulder level as well as and reaching below waist level;
- Frequent to continuous need for manual dexterity of both hands and wrists (pushing, pulling, handling, gripping, fine finger controls, etc.);
- Continuous use of fingers to bilaterally operate point-of-sale equipment, prepare and serve food/beverage items.
- Continuous standing on hard surfaces for many tasks;
- Frequent twisting and hip flexion while walking and maneuvering the kitchen for all tasks;
- Frequent exposure to cold/ below freezing and high heat temperatures (walk-in refrigerator, freezers, and ovens);
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (at least 8 hours);
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds;
- Bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping for various activities throughout the shift;
- Climbing on step stools for cleaning projects as needed;
- A lot of fast paced walking and on busy days it can be well over 15,000 steps per shift (Outdoor parking lot Dining, CurbSide and CarSide Service).
Experience
- Extensive knowledge of food, beverage, and service industry; and
- One year or more related experience as a Server at a fast paced casual dining restaurant.
