JOB SUMMARY

The Fitness Manager I (FM) ensures that the club delivers an outstanding and well-rounded fitness experience to all members through a holistic approach to offering fitness products and services. Through hiring and developing high quality team members who can build relationships and translate the value of fitness offerings, and proactively reviewing process and team member effectiveness, the FS drives both successful member engagement and attainment of fitness revenue goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

Fitness Management - 40%

  • Provides all club members with access to a highly trained and professional fitness staff that is able to provide company-approved fitness counseling, training, classes and programs.

Ensures Fitness Coaches (FC) and Group X Coaches (GXC) are delivering high quality programs to their clients, through class/session assessment and feedback, and proactive review of tools and processes that track member progress.

Encourages members to take advantage of a wide assortment of fitness offerings tailored to meet members' goals, and inspires team members throughout the club to do the same.

  • Creates and updates GX class schedules, including open class management and class coverage, to bring to members the right classes at the right time. Drives improved GX program utilization and effectiveness of programming.

Delivers on Group X class penetration goals, personal training and Group X labor budgets, and all monthly, quarterly and annual revenue budgets.

  • May service personal training sessions, or teach group classes, where there is business need. Not to exceed 15% of weekly hours worked.

Evaluates, manages and support all aspects of fitness and GX equipment ordering.

  • Acts as manager-on-duty at times to support resolution of member concerns.

Staffing and Development - 35%

  • Hires and trains new FC and GXC. Develops, coaches, provides direction, and supports team members as fitness subject matter expert.
  • Provides feedback to the General Manager (GM) where performance gaps exist that rise beyond the level of coaching.
  • Develops weekly work schedules for fitness team, and ensures consistent compliance to Time and Labor guidelines.
  • Train and develop club team members on all the fitness offerings of the club, and how to tie value of each to members based on their goals.
  • Acts as subject matter expert in fitness, including group and individual formats. Regularly share industry updates.

Sales/Customer Service - 25%

Directly sell, and lead team member in sales with all fitness offerings to achieve club sales goals.

  • Support execution of company-approved revenue generating activities inside the club.
  • Engages in the successful onboarding of new members clients, fully acclimating to fitness offerings to achieve fitness goals.

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications

  • 1-2 years as a Personal Trainer preferred
  • Previous leadership experience in retail/hospitality industry, preferred
  • Consultative sales experience preferred

Minimum Educational Level/Certifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree preferred

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions
-Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
-Physical effort required for daily duties include lifting weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting and prolonged standing and walking.
FUNCTIONAL GROUP Club Management

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $28.00 per hour
