The responsibilities of a Daniel Island Club fitness attendant include providing customer service at the front desk such as welcoming and signing in guests, maintaining and cleaning fitness equipment, explaining Club programs, classes and activities, answering phone calls and making class reservations and providing basic fitness information, reporting and resolving complaints, maintaining attendance records and ensuring rules and regulations are enforced. Fitness Attendants are also responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of the Club’s locker rooms.


Primary Responsibility:

  • Greets members and guests as they enter the Wellness Center.
  • Opens and closes the facility when necessary.
  • Answers and transfers calls in a timely, efficient and courteous manner.
  • Informs members of policies and program information.
  • Collects payments and accurately charges member accounts.
  • Issues facility equipment to members as needed (ex. reading trays)
  • Maintains a clean work environment.
  • Performs administrative duties as assigned.
  • Schedules spa services for members and guests.
  • Maintains inventory for smoothie bar, club merchandise and facility supplies.
  • Cleans and organizes merchandise display daily.
  • Promotes Wellness activities and collects scheduling information from members.
  • Washes and folds towels as needed.
  • Reports any equipment issues to a supervisor.
  • Enforces all gym rules and policies.
  • Complies with club policies and procedures.
  • Works variety of shifts, as needed to include nights, weekends and or holidays.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload, and prioritize in a fast paced environment.
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks and to deploy resources effectively.
  • Must have the willingness to provide exceptional service to members and desire to provide leadership to position the department to achieve the mission.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
