Firmware Engineer Details

Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Firmware Engineer to join our team.

This position is Remote!

Position Overview:


The Firmware Engineer will help develop and maintain microcontroller firmware for Tripp Lite products such as UPS systems, PDUs, air conditioners and networking products.

Our firmware runs on a deeply embedded system using a variety of controllers, ranging from 8-bit micros to 32-bit DSPs. We use board-level communication busses, such as SPI and I2C, as well as USB HID. The candidate must be familiar with control systems, embedded communications and some Windows host application development using the .Net platform

In this function you will:

  • Our firmware runs on a deeply embedded system using a variety of controllers, ranging from 8-bit micros to 32-bit DSPs.
  • Use board-level communication busses, such as SPI and I2C, as well as USB HID.
  • Be familiar with control systems, embedded communications and some Windows host application development using the .Net platform
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum one (1) year experience designing firmware using Micro Controllers
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Power supply/Control systems/Motor controls background is a major plus
  • Experience using C and assembly languages on microcontrollers
  • Working knowledge of USB, especially HID power device class
  • Knowledge of communication busses, such as I2C and USART (RS232)
  • Experience with Visual Basic/C# development
  • Experience with Python development
