This position will be focusing primarily on our Motive Power applications, which include industrial lift trucks and pallet jacks, rail equipment, mining equipment, and airline ground support equipment. Some of the motive power brands include Hawker, Ironclad, General Battery, and Fiamm. Wherever there is a need for motive power, EnerSys offers the perfect energy solution.


Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to assist the America’s Motive Power business unit in a financial planning and analysis role. This role will provide an excellent introductory insight into the workings of a regional finance team of a SEC listed company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage and perform the monthly close process related to the reconciliation of sales and standard cost
  • Prepare monthly journal entries related to sales and standard cost reclasses
  • Prepare monthly sales and margin reporting by Motive Power business unit
  • Assist in preparation of the detailed monthly forecast and annual budget income statement for the America’s Motive Power business unit.
  • Update and reconcile monthly forecast in Hyperion Planning
  • Assist in completing the monthly Motive Power sales forecast files
  • Maintain and assist in implementing changes to the SQL processes/tables
  • Assist in ad hoc requests as required

Education and/or Experience: Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance with 1-2 years forecasting/accounting experience in a manufacturing environment or similar. Knowledge of current accounting/SEC guidance a plus.

Language Skills: Fluent English is required; a knowledge of Spanish/Portugese would be useful.

Mathematical Skills: Must be able to perform all accounting functions including account reconciliation, cost analysis and month-end closing procedures.

Reasoning Ability: Must be able to problem solve and analyze financial data.

Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) and ERP. Knowledge of BaaN, SAP and HFM preferred but not required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: none

Other Skills and Abilities: Capable of maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.

Other Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
