We are a nationally growing millwork and specialty finish contractor looking for a Financial Analyst. A successful Financial Analyst combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes to prepare and analyze financial reporting packages.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzes and reports on performance versus targets, budgets, and forecasts in functional areas as assigned.
- Collaborates closely with Project Accounting, Project Management, and operations to prepare timely, accurate, and consistent business trend analysis.
- Prepares detailed variance analysis, liaising with leadership to improve financial procedures and share financial results.
- Researches and provides recommendations to management on operational risks and opportunities.
- Assists on financial models / analysis of historical trends and future expectations.
- Participates in the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Works cross functionally to establish and improve operational processes.
- Reviews accounting transactions for data accuracy.
- Maintains the highest level of accuracy and error-proofing in own work.
- Maintains a high-level awareness of relevant business conditions, trends, etc. to provide the best possible insights.
- Participates in ad hoc business analysis projects as necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Education and Skills (in addition to the required):
- MBA or Certified Public Accountant highly preferred
- Advanced ERP experience, MS Dynamics 365 Finance
- Experience working in the construction or manufacturing sector
- Experience with percent complete and cost accounting
Required Education and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong and proven understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); in particular: consolidations, intercompany transactions, projecting accounting, and percentage of completion revenue recognition
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
