NPS's Commercial Services Program contracts with and oversees approximately 500 concession contracts, 175 leases, and nearly 6,000 Commercial Use Authorizations. As part of this team, the Financial Analyst provides financial expertise for developing business opportunities, contract financial oversight, and monitor related fees and payments. Physical Demands: No special demands are required to perform the work. Normally the employee may sit comfortably to do the work or walk reasonable distances. There may be some extended walking through concession facilities (potentially including backcountry facilities), carrying of light items such as papers and files, or driving an automobile. There may be some requirements to travel on water vessels and small aircraft. A current driver's license is required.
Working Conditions: The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meetings and training rooms, or commercial vehicles ( e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals). Travel may be necessary in order to provide support for the program, to attend meetings, conferences, and site visits. The incumbent may, at times, be required to visit backcountry facilities and operations which could involve challenging terrain or conditions, travel by large or small aircraft, boats, rafts or horseback.
The National Park Service has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
