Join Casey's finance team as a Financial Analyst! The Financial Analyst - Merchandise role will be responsible for the implementation and analysis of the Company's financial activities related to Merchandising, including financial planning & analysis (FP&A), and supporting analysis for capital project decisions, strategies, promotions, and much more. This position is expected to continually improve all facets of the Finance department through the continued analysis and process improvement of activities affecting the Company's financial performance.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in the FP&A process through the analysis of Company financial results, forecasts, variances, and trends.
- Develop financial models to support the sales and margin forecasting cycles.
- Create business cases for capital projects and measure actual capital project performance.
- Assist with the analysis and development of financial results and plans to distribute to the Company's Executive Leadership and Board of Directors.
- Compile and evaluate financial data mined from multiple sources, such as sales, accounting, public sources and vendors. Analyze mined data to produce business information used to support decisions.
- Process improvement through analysis and benchmarking of recent internal results and internal/external trends.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Analytics, Finance, Math, or Statistics.
- At least three years of related business experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and financial modeling concepts.
- Must be advanced with Excel, with strong fluency of the program's formulas and functions.
- Ability to operate with ambiguity.
- Strong analytical and data gathering skills.
- Proficient time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral communication and presentation abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle complex and confidential information with the appropriate levels of discretion.
Preferred:
- Corporate retail experience working within or supporting a Merchandising function.
- Experience with Oracle, Essbase, and MicroStrategy.
