Barbizon Lighting Company's New York office has an immediate full time opening for a field service technician to provide technical support and service to Barbizon customers and employees. Duties to include the following:
- Troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, testing, and upgrade of production lighting equipment
- Troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, testing, and upgrade/retrofit of dimming and control systems
- Technical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of in-house technical systems
- Technical phone/counter support for products sold
- Electronic/electric/mechanical bench support
- Field service and commissioning of dimming and control systems
- Bench repairs as needed
- Customer phone support
- Generate, maintain and organize related files
- Office IT support
- Other duties as assigned
Qualified candidates will have:
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and mechanical components and lighting/control systems
- Thorough understanding of lighting and control systems
- Intermediate or better electrical skills practices
- Ability to follow direction
- Understanding of DMX and networking protocols
- Strong personal motivation and self-starting skills
- Strong communication & organizational skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong computer skills. Theatrical dimming manufacturer field technician certification a plus
- Demonstrated understanding of systems and related problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of computer and network troubleshooting and repair
- Bachelor of Science, BFA or MFA in Technical Theater, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent technical school, military training, or experience.
- Valid Driver’s License.
