Employment Type : Full-Time

Hutch Paving is currently seeking a Field Engineer/Surveyor for Concrete and Asphalt construction. This position will begin in our 2021 season.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering surveys of existing parking lots, curb and gutter, sidewalk, etc. for the purpose of new construction and remove and replace paving operations.
  • Assist with utility location.
  • Conduct as-built surveys.
  • Determine elevation, location, grades of points and areas with a transit and or level.
  • Determine grade and slope of proposed and/or existing sidewalks, footings, retaining walls, drainage ditches, paving, and related projects.
  • Ensure proper drainage on paving projects by working with prep crews and paving crews to execute a grade that will drain.

Requirements:

  • Experience with the principals of surveying.
  • Experience with basic algebra, trigonometry, and plane geometry.
  • Ability to work with others or lone worker.
  • Able to plan and execute work assignments without constant oversight.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
