UPS is seeking a dedicated Feeder Driver Training Specialist to train UPS tractor trailer drivers according to company guidelines, and ensure drivers are in compliance with UPS regulatory requirements. If this sounds like your ideal career opportunity, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provides classroom instruction to ensure drivers understand UPS's Safe Work Methods and government regulations (i.e., Occupational Safety and Health Administrations and Department of Transportation regulations)
- Distributes training materials to ensure each driver has required UPS training documents
- Administers and grades training and compliance tests to document driver's completion of training
- Teaches drivers how to use the In Vehicle Information System (IVIS) to ensure drivers are paid correctly and know their schedules
- Provides on-road training to new drivers to obtain CDL for both single and doubles
- Trains new drivers on proper pre/post trips
- Trains new drivers how to assemble and disassemble doubles
- Performs road test with peak season driver candidates to ensure they possess adequate driving and safety skills
Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrates a basic understanding of the functions, regulations, and procedures of compliance agencies or governing bodies; takes a leadership position in programs that reduce risk and enhance safety
- Demonstrates a general knowledge of techniques for soliciting and gathering information
- Availability to work flexible schedule, including various days and shift hours
- Valid driver's license
- CDL license for a minimum of 2 years at the combination vehicle endorsement level (Class A)
- Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) - Preferred
