Facilities Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY: To efficiently plan, operate and maintain facilities, grounds and infrastructure on a cost-effective basis which may vary in shift, include multiple sites and will require hands-on work.
This is not a supervisory role.
Pay Rate: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Punctual and dependable attendance.
- Responsible for a wide range of services including repairs and maintenance, carpentry, painting, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, lighting, furnishings, HVAC, housekeeping (including janitorial, stocking supplies and floor maintenance), parking, snow removal and grounds maintenance.
- Make minor repairs to and installs equipment in or on buildings.
- Safely operate common hand and power tools in installation, maintenance, and repair of facilities.
- Perform heavy labor and semiskilled manual tasks involved in helping workers in a variety of crafts.
- Perform reoccurring tasks such as carrying, moving, and delivering supplies and equipment.
- May operate power equipment such as trucks, lifts, pneumatic tools, saws, drills, sanders, and other items.
- Maintain lighting fixtures inside and outside of buildings and grounds.
- Safely remove and replace HVAC filters in return air ventilation systems, or in split-systems at ground level or rooftop locations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and other safety and health regulations and standards.
- Review and be familiar with Goodwill of Central Oklahoma safety policies, programs and procedures and adhere to all safety rules, regulations and safety codes. Attend safety training and meetings and report any unsafe work conditions, accidents or injuries immediately.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Perform other duties and projects as required by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Specialized training in vocational/technical aspects of building trades preferred and one year experience involving the maintenance and/or repair of buildings, equipment, and grounds or equivalent work experience may be substituted for education.
- Must be 21 years old.
- Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and Car Insurance Verification, required.
- Must pass MVR check and maintain a good driving record.
- Ability to speak, read and write the English language.
- Reliable transportation and communication, required.

- This work is physical and requires the following activities: Standing, twisting, bending, kneeling, grasping, crawling, climbing and reaching for long periods of time; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
- The ability to lift 50 pounds, or more with assistance.
- Requires use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Frequent walking and long extended periods of time on feet.
- Ability to climb ladders, work from lifts, and perform routine tasks at heights up to 40 feet.
- This is considered a safety sensitive position. No level of impairment from drugs, alcohol or prescription medications will be acceptable while performing the essential functions of this job.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work in a climate controlled atmosphere and outside in various weather conditions and will be exposed to dust fumes or other airborne particles as well as extreme heat and cold.
- Moderate noise level
- Requires local travel on a frequent basis and distance travel occasionally.
- Participate in department on-call rotation is required.
- Flexible work schedule required if scheduling needs are required for a project.
- Works 40 hours per week or more when required
