Job description

As a member of the Exxel TEAM, the Building Envelope Foreman coordinates and leads exterior waterproofing, cladding and roofing subcontractors in performing high quality workmanship that is on schedule, per detail and long-lasting.

Essential Functions

· Know and enforce Exxel Pacific’s Safety Program.

· Understand plan details and ensure subcontractor work is done accurately.

· Oversee critical tasks to keep the building ‘in the dry’ during construction.

· Maintain positive, professional relationships with subcontractors and understands each subcontractor’s scope of work.

· Collaborate with management to hold below grade & above grade waterproofing, liquid-applied waterproofing, roofing and air barrier pre-construction meetings.

· Work with subcontractors and design professionals to perform exterior mock-ups.

· Work closely with the project management to complete prep work for window & door installation, roofing and waterproofing-related activities.

· Identify areas requiring improvement and resolve issues in the field to maintain Exxel’s high quality expectations.

· Close-out open action items from consultant and architectural field reports.

· Create exterior punch lists to ensure the final product meets quality standards.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working “hands on” on construction sites with building envelope focused trade, carpentry skills and experience with local subcontractors are an added asset.
  • Possesses strong knowledge base in layout, crew management, issue resolution, and subcontractor coordination as they relate to exterior waterproofing & cladding.
  • Possess great organizational and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer and typing skills including the ability to use Bluebeam/PDF, photo editing, Microsoft Word & Excel, and the Internet.
