General Summary of Position

Manages international exports by ensuring that our clients receive the best product at the most reasonable cost, while maximizing margin and network efficiency. Responsible for all day-to-day activities in the clients international supply chain: arranging International Transportation to align with our customers’ needs up to and including consulting, quoting, Vendor Management, Document verification, Tracking and Tracing. Shipment reporting to clients as well as the execution of all shipments.

Essential Duties

  • Handling of ocean LCL and FCL Export Shipments.
  • Booking of cargo and negotiation of rates with carriers.
  • Shipment's pickup arrangements and planning.
  • Conformity verification of all documentation at time of shipment preparation in compliance with US customs requirements.
  • Building and maintaining good relations with carriers.
  • Read, monitor and respond promptly to all incoming communications in order to properly manage and control daily operational issues.
  • Verify bookings and get appropriate approvals when needed from overseas.
  • Tracking and tracing of shipments from beginning to final destination.
  • Timely and accurate billing of files.
  • Review and approve supplier's invoices on a timely basis.
  • Review and approve of overseas agent's remittance on a timely basis.
  • Solving in a timely and business efficient manner customer complaints and implement measures to prevent them from reoccurring.
  • Solving of internal and operation problems in a timely and business efficient manner in order to prevent service deficiencies and/or customer's dissatisfaction.
  • Improving on an ongoing basis internal systems and procedures in order to excel in customer service and departmental efficiency.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Follows Jillamy’s policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge of export industry and regulations.
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in ocean exports with International shipments.
  • Quick learner, multi-tasker, organized, detail-oriented, problem-solver.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills; thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience managing/prioritizing own work assignments, and meeting deadlines.
  • Requires confidence and independent decision-making skills to problem-solve, juggle competing priorities, and provide accurate and responsive customer service.
  • Ability to quickly assess client situations, and escalate to management when needed.
  • Required computer skills; proficiency with Windows operating system, MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and internet browsers. Able to learn new programs/systems quickly.
