We are a progressive small animal hospital in Land O’ Lakes/Lutz, FL seeking team members for our growing veterinary care center. We are currently following all COVID-19 protocols and procedures while interacting with patients to provide essential services.

  • Obtaining vitals, medical history, and presenting patients to Dr. on shift
  • Obtaining laboratory samples and proper handling to include: free catch urine samples, blood collection, ear cytology, skin scrape, skin cytology
  • Performing in hospital diagnostics such as: Centrifuged Intestinal Parasite Exams, Ear Cytology, Urinalysis, HWT, FELV/FIV Test, CPL/FPL snap test, PCV/TP, CBC, Chemistry, DTM, Skin Scrape, Skin Cytology,
  • Digital Radiology, positioning techniques and PACS system
  • Performing treatments such as: nail trim, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, SQ fluids, administering injections as directed, IV Catheter placement, hospitalization and treatment of in-patients, and recovery of post operative patients
  • Knowledge of common heartworm and flea/tick preventatives
  • Knowledge of common vaccines and medical conditions
  • Knowledge base of prescription diets and nutritional recommendations
  • Surgical and Dental assisting experience is a plus but not required

General Job Duties and Responsibilities (further clarified with Team Member Handbook) :

  • Helping maintain the flow of patients.
  • Ability to understand & follow directions.
  • Follow all policy & procedure training task lists & manuals.
  • Actively clarify hospital services to parents
  • Excel in the flow of clients and pets to ensure superior patient & client care, and support of the veterinary medical team.
  • Maximize efficiency with a detail oriented approach
  • Provide professional and exceptional service at all times. This includes welcoming clients and pets, ensuring that they are comfortable in the hospital, and educating them about their pet's health.
  • Assist incoming clients by completing the required documentation, entering all pet information and history in the computer, utilizing proper collars and tags for identification, and ensuring prompt service.
  • Assist outgoing clients by providing all necessary instructions, information and invoices, dispensing prescription items per the veterinarian's instructions and scheduling future appointments.
  • Manage client transactions and maintaining accurate balances.
  • Utilize proper opening and closing procedures.
  • Sanitize, organize, and restock exam rooms and treatment area after each patient visit.
  • Laundry- washing, drying, folding, restocking towels & blankets
  • Follow OSHA & hospital regulations to ensure safety of patients, clients and fellow team members.
  • Able to lift at least 35 pounds
  • Able kneel, stand or reach for extended periods of time.
  • Hours fall within Monday through Saturday.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
