Experienced Laser Operator - Swing Shift Davis Tool, Inc., a long established Hillsboro manufacturer, supports its customers by offering advanced technology manufacturing 24 hours per day. Our quality, customer service and on-time delivery are second to none. To meet current and future business demands, we are looking to fill a number of positions to round out our day shift manufacturing services. At this time, we have an immediate opening for an experienced Laser Operator. Laser operators at Davis Tool set up and run our CO2 lasers to cut a variety of non-ferrous and ferrous materials. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of related experience. Our clean shop has a variety of modern equipment including punches, press brakes, milling, turning, and assembly. Monday – Friday workweek Swing Shift – 3:15-11:45 ($0.75 per hour shift differential) Daily Tasks and responsibilities include: Safe set up and operation of Bystronic and Mitsubishi Laser cutting machines. Achieving quality and time standards. First article and in process inspection. Downloading programs and nesting parts to be cut. Recording material used / maintaining inventory levels. Daily cleaning and maintenance of equipment. Working with Planning and Engineering to improve and develop new processes. Education beyond High School Higher level math skills Experience cutting a wide variety of metals and plastics. Ability to read and interpret customer drawings. Experience with calipers, micrometers and other inspection equipment. Experience changing / cleaning optical components. Ability to troubleshoot equipment and processes effectively. Good reading, writing and computer skills. Training in Lean Manufacturing principles. Ability to routinely handle objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
