Execution Intermediate Associate Analyst - FIU AML Investigations- Technology & Analytics Details

The FIU Technology & Analytics Liaison position is responsible for the oversight and implementation of all technology and process related initiatives key to the success of the FIU. Candidate must possess a strong ability to interpret functional and non-functional requirements and report on matters such as technology & data strategy, process enhancements, metrics, capacity analysis etc.

The Technology & Analytics Liaison works closely with AML Investigations management, to lead initiatives related to risk based data key to the success of FIU case investigations. This role also showcases a solid understanding of the FIU processes to ensure technology and analytics can be customized appropriately to enhance the efficiency of the unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain existing and design updated technology platforms for the FIU
  • Assist the FIU team with ensuring the global process is effectively implemented.
  • Plan, initiate, and manage information technology & process projects.
  • Serves as technical liaison with technology department on data extracts and imports ensuring that data is complete, timely and in the correct format.
  • Works with the FIU AML Investigations management staff to ensure that case data conforms to established policies and procedures for case management.
  • Prepares technical and user documentation.
  • Case data oversight.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Assist with AML review/investigations of account activity.
  • Document and report the review/investigation findings and prepare case files with the required supporting documentation
  • Assist with disposing cases according to agreed upon business Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Follow-up with additional point(s) of contact as needed to identify additional information in support of the case
  • Assist with Drafting and filing SARs consistent with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) requirements
  • Communicate with senior management on compliance, legal and business AML issues
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • Four Year College Degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years AML experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in programming/quantitative areas.
  • Proficient in the development of technological business documentation.
  • Strong understanding of systems architecture.
  • Well versed in technology project management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong technical, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Macros and VBA.
  • Should be a self-starter, and organized, and must have the ability to work independently, without supervision.
  • Knowledgeable of the laws applicable to money laundering, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT act, US Treasury AML guidelines, OFAC requirements, and Suspicious Activity Reporting requirements.
