EVENT OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR Details

SUMMARY: The Event Operations Supervisor will oversee the Wild Dunes Event Operations Dept. under the supervision of the Event Operations Manager. The Event Operations Supervisor will communicate effectively to Conference Service Managers, kitchen staff, Event Operations captains and servers to ensure the event is successful. The Event Operations Supervisor will ensure staff arrives on time, in proper uniform, and performs to the level of a four star Event Operations department. They will assist with any disciplinary action needed with the staff. The Event Operations Supervisor will monitor ordering and par levels for all supplies. The Event Operations Supervisor will help in organizing and inventorying all equipment. The Event Operations Supervisor will perform any other work related projects or duties assignment by the Event Operations Manager.

The Event Operations Supervisor shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Wild Dunes Resort Culture as well as promoting Wild Dunes Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!

Essential job FUNCTIONS:

  • Review Function Event Orders daily and ensure we have adequate staffing and supplies for each event
  • Review assignment sheets prepared by the Event Operations captains for each event
  • Observe the captains as they conduct line-ups, inspect uniforms, review assignments and steps of service for events.
  • Greet on-site contacts and introduce the contacts to the Event Operations captain to ensure they stay in contact throughout the event.
  • Work closely with Catering and Conference Managers to coordinate and plan all events
  • Monitor captains and how they are issuing and tracking uniforms
  • Supervise set-up staff in the absence of the set-up manager
  • Inspect all side-work to ensure front and back of the house are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Pre-pare and post Event Operations Checks using Delphi and SMS software
  • Communicate daily with Event Operation Manager regarding staff performance to ensure guest satisfaction.

Associate is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

eXPERIENCE & eDUCATION:

  • High school education required
  • Prior stewarding experience preferred
  • At least one year supervisory experience preferred
  • At least six months food & beverage experience required

    Working CONDITIONS:

  • While primarily an indoor job, must be able to work at outdoor locations on occasion, walking on uneven surfaces;
  • Must be able to work in either hot or cold conditions
  • Must be able to stand on feet and walk throughout the day
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs. & occasionally lift, carry, push & pull up to 50 lbs;
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, reaching and repetitive hand & arm movements constantly; squeezing and overhead reaching occasionally
  • Must be able to twist and bend frequently, and squat occasionally
