First Excel Title, LLC, a rapidly growing, Washington Business Journal “Top Title & Escrow Company” serving Virginia, Maryland, & District of Columbia, is currently seeking a highly skilled, detail and customer-oriented Escrow Disbursement Coordinator.
Position Details: The Escrow Disbursement Coordinator is a full-time position with First Excel Title Company in Fairfax, VA.
Responsibilities, duties, and escrow functions:
- Issue escrow disbursements in an expedient manner and according to state and federal regulations.
- Perform all standard and customary escrow disbursement functions for key accounts as well as other accounts as needed.
- Upon receipt of assigned closed files, review all disbursement documents for compliance, ensure that all disbursement-related documents are properly signed, notarized and recorded (when applicable).
- Follow functional area's processes and procedures in daily activities, troubleshoot as needed and recommend suggestions for continuous improvements to overall operations.
- Monitor the settlement schedule on a regular basis throughout the day for postponed, canceled or rescheduled closings.
- Monitor emails and calls daily and answer clients’ questions in a timely and courteous manner.
- Confirm that the file balances are accurate and disburse the funds according to directions via wire transfers and checks.
- Communicate with lenders, buyers, agents and escrow officers regarding various authorizations and status of funds.
- Ensure file is properly balanced and reconcile any differences with Settlement Processor.
- Verify that all escrow funds have been received from all sources.
- Post receipt of incoming funds.
- Process the release of escrow holds in a timely manner.
- Provide occasional administrative and organizational support to Management.
- Perform other settlement post-closing duties as assigned.
- Perform special ad-hoc projects upon request.
Role Specific Knowledge & Qualifications:
- 2+ years of disbursement/accounting experience.
- Completion of a High School diploma or GED (required).
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate both internally and externally to solidify business partnerships and a positive work environment.
- Actively contribute to the results of the team and works toward achieving goals and objectives.
- Possess ownership and direct accountability.
- Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
- Resolve any discrepancies that may arise expeditiously.
- Work well under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills & the ability to multi-task.
- Position requires knowledge & proficiency of basic computer systems; demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
- Position requires demonstrated skill in data entry & daily use of Settlement & Accounting Processing Software.
- Adherence to company safety standards and help promote a safe working environment for all employees & clients.
- Valid driver's license.
