Citi Investment Management (CIM) manages investments across many asset classes for high and ultra- high net worth clients of Citi Private Bank, with approximately $100 billion in assets under management and advisement. CIM manages a broad suite of investment strategies within single and multi-asset class products.

The Global Equity Team is looking for an experienced Equity Analyst with excellent analytical skills, who is comfortable with both detailed, company specific research and overall strategic analysis.

Primary responsibilities would focus upon fundamental analysis of global mid-cap equity securities. Additional responsibilities would include maintaining research documentation and preparing occasional internal or client-facing communication documents.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Conduct fundamental research and analysis on primarily mid-cap “special situation” equity securities across sectors for CIM’s Global Thematic portfolios.
  • Generate new buy / sell recommendations, review proposed securities purchases, and communicate conclusions and recommendations orally and in writing.
  • Stay abreast of trends and news, maintain pro-active views, and communicate conclusions/recommendations concerning relevant thematic trends and developments. Attend sell side conferences and corporate management meetings.
  • Work with thematic PM team and collaborate with global research sector analysts to communicate research views; maintain and augment equity research files.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent analytic skills & practice of independent thinking are crucial:
    • Demonstrated capacity to identify and evaluate multiple, key aspects and crucial fundamental and competitive details of a company before reaching a conclusion;
    • Drive to explore circumstances, events, and people as they may affect either the equity markets broadly or specific investment opportunities;
    • Persistence in following through with build- out of initial queries or research angles into their detailed underlying complexity and then synthesizing conclusions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, clear, concise expository style, as well as strong interpersonal relations skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively, prioritize and multi-task within in a team- oriented, often fast-paced environment.
  • 10 years equity markets research experience having an in depth understanding of fundamental equity research, including factor analysis, financial statements comprehension, and experience with analyzing global macroeconomic trends.
  • Experience analyzing global mid-cap equities across multiple sectors preferred.
  • BA/BS required; Master’s degree in some combination of economics and finance and/or CFA preferred.
