The Chief Operating Office (COO) is responsible for delivering a more consistent approach to business operations across Wells Fargo, strengthening the company’s risk and control infrastructure, and delivering effective and efficient enterprise services to employees and customers.

The COO group includes the head of Operations, who is jointly responsible for line of business operations with each of the five LOB CEOs. Operations functions include contact center operations, client servicing support, money movements within our businesses, lending operations, and other functions.

The COO group also includes a number of teams dedicated to strengthening Wells Fargo’s risk and control infrastructure. These include the Control Executive team; Regulatory and Policy Affairs; Enterprise Customer Excellence; Sales Practices Oversight and Management; and Strategic Execution and Operations.

The Chief Administrative Office, encompassing the Corporate Properties Group; Corporate Security; Enterprise Business Resiliency; Strategic Programs and Process Improvement; Enterprise Change Management; Supply Chain Management; and Data Management and Insights, delivers important services for our employees and customers.

The DMI Administration function reports to the Chief Data Officer and is responsible for driving and coordinating internal DMI operations, including planning, financial and resource management, process risk and control management, program management, and DMI audit/regulatory relations.

The Enterprise Data Portfolio leader will report to the Head of Enterprise DMI Administration and will be responsible for:

  • Supporting strategic planning and investment decisions across an enterprise portfolio of data management and governance investments
  • Leading a Program Management Office supporting a multi-year, cross-functional enterprise transformation program for data management and governance
  • Facilitating the Chief Data Officer’s prioritization and funding allocation across the enterprise data portfolio
  • Partnering with leaders across DMI, technology, other enterprise functions and lines of business to create and integrate strategic plans for data management and governance
  • Partnering with initiative leaders to establish delivery milestones and metrics to track program delivery
  • Creating and implementing a change management program across multiple initiatives and stakeholders
  • Aggregating and producing clear, concise and actionable program reporting for senior leadership and the Board of Directors

Required Qualifications


  • 10+ years of strategic planning experience
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • 5 + years of experience creating and implementing strategic plans and roadmaps at the executive level for enterprise wide business initiatives
  • 4+ years of experience with business transformation and change strategy execution
  • 5+ years of experience with one or a combination of the following: compiling and preparing executive summaries, presentations for management and senior leaders
  • 4+ years of experience in one or combination of the following: leading cross functional teams, enterprise-wide projects, or directly managing people
  • 5+ years of change management experience
  • 5+ years of financial services industry, consulting or regulatory experience
  • 2+ years of Senior level governance reporting experience

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills

  • Experience managing complex projects in a large enterprise environment
  • Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals
