ENGINEERING/SERVICE FIELD SUPPORT TECHNICIAN Details

JOB PURPOSE:

1.) Provide timely and accurate estimates for field identified repairs. Maintain estimate records. Ensure thorough, accurate and timely estimate preparation.
2.) Assist Systems Engineering with tasks required for completion of Permit Submittal process
RESPONSIBILITIES
Position responsibilities:

SERVICE FIELD SUPPORT

  • Review ALL preventive Maintenance work orders that are turned in for billing and provide estimates for all items listed that need attention.

o Gather all needed information – parts, outside repairs, labor, etc.
o Formulate proposal and present to the Field MWS Service Supervisor for presentation to the customer.

  • Provide accurate estimates within 48 hours of receiving the information.
  • Maintain good relationship with outside repair vendors, with understanding of who we use for various outsourcing needs.
  • Verify information with technicians on any repairs that there is any type of uncertainty to the repair that is being estimated.
  • Open Work Order and place order for all needed parts on approved estimates. Provide that work order to the MWS Field Supervisor so work can be dispatched.
  • Track all estimates in a spreadsheet format and show estimate creation date, date of acceptance, date of completion or status of estimate.
  • Provide a report once a month of all accepted, pending, denied and expired estimates.
  • Report to the MWS Service Manager any issues that seem to be slowing down the estimate process.

SYSTEMS ENGINEERING SUPPORT

  • Generate & install required documentation needed for Permit Inspection approvals. Signage, Storage Rack Capacity Signs, etc.
  • Arrange and assist site information gathering with Engineering resources and feedback information to Systems Engineering Permit Administrator.

Role qualifications:

  • Must collaborate with service, parts, and sales staff as well as outside vendors to ensure effective customer service and accurate information gathering.
  • Must develop systems and controls to ensure all commitments are followed up and met.
  • Must have adequate knowledge on all products we service.

Essential skills and experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
  • 2 years in material handling service environment, or similar industry preferred.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills and attitude.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to communicate technically in the products we service.
  • Good computer skills
