About the Position: As Senior Engineering Technician, you will provide contract administration and construction quality assurance (QA) services. Process contract modifications and task order awards requiring a government cost estimate. Review and resolve large claims that may take a significant time to process.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for surveillance of contract operations of civil, military and Hazardous, Toxic and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) construction projects.
  • Serve as the local expert in the field of construction safety and quality assurance.
  • Inspect job sites regularly for compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Review plans and specifications for proposed projects to determine practicability from a construction viewpoint and whether physical obstruction or other construction difficulties have been anticipated.
  • Participate in pre-construction conferences to discuss principle construction features and requirements, in terms of methods and equipment operations.
  • Perform as a quality assurance representative on projects which may include HTRW. Activities are performed at known or suspected HTRW sites and require oversight of contractor mitigation activities
  • Provide expertise and guidance concerning safety and quality assurance to all sections and personnel under the purview of the area office.

    GS-11 $70,459 - 91,602 (STEPS 1-10)
    GS-12 $84,452 - 109,792 (STEPS 1-10)
