The Engineering Technical Writer will work closely with the Plant Manager and Project Engineer for the production and updating of the operations, monitoring, and maintenance manuals, monthly reports, and other annual contract deliverables while providing support to other areas of Operations, Monitoring and Maintenance of the Hazardous Waste Facility. This is a full time/40hr a week position. Organize material and complete technical documentation according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology. Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for use by the Operations and Maintenance staff. Maintain records and files for distribution and updating of documents. Review, edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by staff members. Example: Charts, graphs, drawings, etc. Confer with the Plant Manager, Project Engineer and other staff members to establish technical requirements and to determine subject material to be developed for documents and submission to the client. Review documents and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding. Manage photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate operations and maintenance requirements for reporting. Data collecting and compiling into reports. Review drawings, specifications, comments and lab analytics to integrate and report into standard operating and maintenance procedures. Communicate with operations staff managers and other support personnel to become familiar with the requirements for reporting. Observe processing activities to determine operating and maintenance procedures. Facilitate typing, duplication, assembly of reports for distribution. Ensure customer's expectations are exceeded by responding to documentation comments and requests by generating a response for review by the Plant Manager. Support and implement processes by auditing existing processes to the contract requirements. Other duties and tasks as assigned. The Engineering Technical Writer shall possess at a minimum a Bachelor degree in Engineering, Technical Writing, Business or Technology. Qualifications: Minimum of two or more years of experience in supporting Engineering and Technical writing functions. Fluent in speaking and the written English language. Proven proficiency utilizing Adobe Professional, Microsoft Word and Excel required. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Project a plus. Proven technical writing experience specifically with O&M manuals required. Ability to successfully collaborate with staff, vendors, and customers required. Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, chemical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, motion and control components required. Proven attention to detail with an emphasis on processing systems specifications required. Proven track record of being self-motivated, working with minimal supervision, and leading and partnering with diverse team members required. Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently, retain a sense of urgency and meet strict timelines required. Conduct oneself with the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards.
