TE Connectivity is now hiring an Engineering Support Technician for our manufacturing plant in Landisville, PA.
Key Job Duties:
- Responsible for supporting equipment that produce RBY product, which includes funneling machines.
- Assist and support the engineering and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement, which is defined as incremental and dynamic improvements to machines that positively impact setup time, machine run time, quality, and safety.
- Resolve basic machine operation problems and fabricate tooling as required in order to eliminate extended downtime.
- Work closely with setup personnel and operators to resolve basic machine operation problems and to establish standard work procedures ensuring all work is done according to the current best practices.
- Fabricate tooling for prototyping purposes or as required to eliminate extended machine downtime.
- Lead assigned projects and communicate project updates to key stakeholders and management.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
What your background should look like:- HS Diploma or equivalent required; 2 years of vocational or technical school degree is a plus
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience interacting with mechanical systems and the ability to troubleshoot machines or equipment.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures.
- Capacity to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and communicate clearly and effectively with team members at all levels.
- Proficient use of inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators for dimensional inspection.
- Proficient use of lathe, machining mills, grinders, and drill presses.
- Ability to fabricate tooling to print or modify existing tooling.
- Basic computer navigation skills (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Self-starter capable of prioritizing tasks with minimum supervision.
