The Industrial Engineer will utilize their skill set and expertise to drive continuous improvement, transformation, metrics reporting/visibility, inventory control methodology, and labor management practices, and process enhancements across the ALIs. You will participate in a variety of projects including developing business cases, capital projects, and leading cost saving initiatives. For your projects you will be responsible end to end, including strategy development, analysis, vendor management, installation, and closing the project.

This position will be located on-site in Douglasville, GA. Additional travel will be required to other Andersen locations to help with projects up to 20%.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with Supply Chain and Operations on Control Plans, Standard Work and Work Instructions for sustainability.
  • WLM (Warehouse Labor Management) project knowledge: the development of and maintenance of WLM standards.
  • Develop and complete intermediate level work plans for small projects and assignments including expense /capital estimates and cost/benefit analysis.
  • Apply basic and advanced engineering analytical skills (Statistical Process Control (SPC), process capability, DMAIC, etc.…) to resolve problems and to satisfy customer issues and requirements.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts in Initial Quality and internal quality for products or processes through the entire consolidation center.
  • Lead cost reductions and yield improvements with delivery partners.
  • Identify opportunities for error proofing processes and drive the implementation of solutions.
  • Partner with ongoing product development team to implement and/or improve product packaging and handling.
  • Business object report creation
  • Optimize Slotting of warehouses using identified systems, tools, and processes
QUALIFICATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • BS degree preferably in Industrial Engineering
  • Experience in warehousing and logistics - preferred make to order.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong understanding of Lean principles
  • Knowledge of WLM (Warehouse Labor Management) systems - preferred Blue Yonder
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with ability to drive results
  • Knowledge of warehouse layout, CAD drawings, and space/density analysis.
  • flow, slotting, and optimization
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook & Visio
  • Knowledge of CAD
