POSITION: Employment Services Professional
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Employment Services Professional (ESP) is responsible for providing employment services for individuals with varying disabilities in community-based employment. Employment services are delivered in accordance with person-centered planning approaches and adherence with Medicaid, HCBS Waiver, ACCESS-VR, and other funding regulations/requirements. This position’s specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the subsequent items, and are characterized in the following five standards of performance, defined as below:
JOB KNOWLEDGE
- Provide employment services and supports designed to assist an individual to find and maintain a job in the community; soft skills training, assistance with application processes/interviewing, travel training, on-site job support and coaching, etc.
- Develop, implement and monitor individual employment action plans and collaborate with supervisor related to the same
- Deliver employment supports utilizing strength-based, person-centered approaches
- Provide ongoing employment services and supports to the individual and employer to include on-site job support and coaching, re-training, advocacy, career advancement and linkage to other relevant services
- Communicate with individuals served and vocational counselors in provision of services and coordinate planning meetings as appropriate
- Network with community businesses to identify new partnerships and cultivate existing partnerships to promote inclusive employment environments
- Act as a positive role model to individuals receiving services and maintain a professional presentation in all aspects of the position
- Any additional duties as assigned
TEAMWORK
- Encourage and maintain a positive, collaborative working relationship with all departments in the agency, staff, program participants, parents, and community partners/employers
- Communicate all health, safety, program concerns, sensitive situations and incidents to supervisor
- Attend and participate in all required and/or requested departmental or agency meetings
DOCUMENTATION
- Complete required documentation in conformance with State and Agency rules, regulations, policies and procedures and billing practices
- Perform documentation reviews to ensure records are maintained in conformance with State and Agency rules, regulations, policies, procedures and billing practices
COMPLIANCE & ACCOUNTABILITY
- Identify and report any untoward incidents
- Identify, report and/or correct all safety hazards that include physical site and/or work practices or concerns, assist with investigating all work-related accidents as requested
- Participate in any investigations as required
- Comply with all State and Federal regulations along with agency policies and practices
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
- Obtain and maintain required agency and other required training for this position
- Attend all required training, staff development programs, committees and meetings as required by the agency and/or State and Federal regulations
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Possess strong interpersonal skills including effectively communicating ideas/directions, maintaining professionalism, and being receptive to guidance/direction from supervisor
- Experience interfacing with business community and comfortable in networking situations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Effective time management and strong organizational skills
- Be computer literate with knowledge in agency operating systems and applicable software required for department needs
- Demonstrate sound judgment in normal work and emergency situations
- Able to work scheduled hours that may include overtime, weekend and/or holiday timeframes and maintain an acceptable work attendance as defined in the agency’s employee policy manual
- Must physically be able to perform required certifications and lift twenty-five (25) pounds
- Possess a valid driver’s license acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation or related Human Service field

Associates Degree in Business; Liberal Arts or Human Services and two years applicable field experience

A combination of education and experience that, in the opinion of the reviewing agency, exceeds the above standards of the program.
