Employee Benefits Account Manager – HUB International

Position Summary:
The Employee Benefits Account Manager II is accountable for delivering excellent and efficient service through day-to-day account management of an assigned group of accounts and has a direct impact on agency success by achieving client retention goals, effectively and consistently ensuring client satisfaction, and fostering a culture of accountability, integrity, trust, respect and teamwork while focusing on continuous improvement. The Account Manager II will serve as a mentor to the Account Manager I, provide direction to Account Manager Assistants I and/or II(s), and support Producers.
Responsibilities:
Supports group client benefit sales via referral from producers including meeting with clients, submission of applications, preparation of proposals, review of benefit plan contracts and summaries of coverage, acting as liaison between client and carrier for plan options and coverage implementation in order to secure suitable, competitive coverage for clients. Maintain accurate and timely tracking and servicing documentation through agency management and document systems.
Markets renewals on a timely basis by communicating with clients and carriers during the renewal process, creating renewal proposals/plan options, benefits plan contracts and summaries of coverage, communicating with Account Executives as needed in order to secure suitable competitive coverage for clients at renewal. Maintain accurate and timely tracking and servicing documentation through agency management and document systems.
Establishes relationships with clients, carriers and vendors. Meets client service needs by responding to client requests in a timely fashion, including initiating changes requested, providing coverage information and documentation as needed, ensuring client requests are handled by carriers and acting to maintain accounts in the event of requests for cancellation. Provides support to clients concerning compliance as needed. Keeps Producers and/or Account Executives fully informed of important activities on accounts as needed. Also supports clients by conducting open enrollment meetings as needed.
Responsible to use discretion and judgment in determining coverage needs for clients and in carrier and client negotiations.
Fosters an environment of innovation; serves as a mentor to Account Manager I(s) and AMA I and II(s); engages in proactive problem solving with Account Manager III(s), Account Executives and clients; proactively uses, and supports use of, agency resources and processes in order to ensure efficient use of time.
Skills/Abilities:
4+ years insurance industry experience
Knowledge of benefits insurance coverages and markets and industry operations
Firm understanding of coverages and service needs of assigned clients
Developed knowledge of fully insured and alternative funding options
Works closely with Commercial Lines Producer/s, Account Managers, Account Assistants, Marketing, and Risk Management.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; College Degree preferred
Active Tennessee Life & Health License required; HR, CEBS path, or other employee benefit related designation preferred.
Knowledge of benefits insurance coverages and markets and industry operations
