ELEMENTARY PE TEACHER - 195 DAY Principal, Assistant Principal, Elementary Level Associate Superintendent Knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment of grade level(s) or instructional specialty(ies) to which assigned; knowledge of child growth and development; knowledge of Prince William County Public Schools curricula, program of studies related to assignments and public school mission, goals, and organization; ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs; ability to plan and implement lessons using the Standards-Based Instructional Planning Process and based on Division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of assigned students; ability to utilize multi-media and computer technology, as appropriate; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, parents, and administrators; skill in oral and written communication; excellent human relations skills. If teaching music, ability to teach through demonstrating singing/choral techniques, movement, technique on pitched and unpitched instruments and proficiency on the piano, ability to distinguish pitches and tone quality; if teaching visual art, a personal portfolio demonstrating artistic ability and experience in a variety of media. Possession of a Collegiate Professional, Post Graduate Professional, or appropriate vocational license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia with endorsement(s) required for teaching assignment(s). Must be eligible for Virginia Teacher Certification Program or licensure. Positions covered by this specification serve as general education, elementary classroom teachers (K-5); classes taught may be single or team or departmental setting, but teachers might work independently in a unique teaching specialty.
