Major Areas of Accountability: Accepts responsibility for assigned tasks. Participates as a team member. Builds and modifies prototypes in a manner that allows product to be tested in as close to final condition as possible. Determines most efficient method of repair and ensures that all active prototypes are modified to latest design. Develops a Test plan for each assigned product under development. Verifies all critical parameters defined in Test plan and documents the results of each test. Demonstrates the ability to ferret out problems in design and make suggestions for corrections to design. Records all test data in Lab Notebook or in other appropriate location as may or may not be directed by Engineering Manager. Maintains records in a location that can be retrieved easily. Ensures that Manufacturing documentation is complete and accurate. Actively works with Manufacturing as an interface for Engineering. Make sure product goes into Manufacturing with a minimum of difficulty and quickly responds to requests for support from Manufacturing. Establishes and maintains state-of-the-art knowledge of products and development tools and Test Equipment to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks. Proposes Capital Equipment that could reduce the product development cycle. AA degree or 2 yr vo-tech certificate in analog and digital electronics. 5 yrs relevant technical experience after completion of vocational training. Primary Objective:
To assist Product Engineers in design, build, test and documentation of electronic products in such a way to enhance or maintain their value and profitability and/or importance to the company. These tasks must be carried out in such a manner that maintains or enhances MTS's ethical standards both internally and externally.
