Summary If you want to put your highly capable electrical / electronic skills to use, consider joining our team as an Electrical Service Technician. Our company is interested in hiring someone with an extensive knowledge of industrial equipment troubleshooting and maintenance, electrical processes and manufacturing practices. You will use your skillset to assist in the improvement of our productivity, upgrading heavy machinery, install new machinery, troubleshoot various issues with equipment, repair / upgrade electrical components and maintain the system for proper operation. You would be working in a fast-paced industrial setting, where every day is unique and interesting. Responsibilities · Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains high-speed, industrial process equipment. This includes: all electrical power (24 VDC to 480 VAC), automation controllers, transducers, proximity sensors, and inspection devices. · Diagnoses causes of malfunctions and corrects through field measurements and programmable logic control software. Ensures efficient equipment operation through proper control programming and proactively suggests methods to improve equipment performance. · Maintains effective communication and documentation through review of and entries to service reports, updates to wiring schematics, and computer software change forms. · A common sense approach to performing all tasks. · Determines all supplies needed for each assignment. · Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the company. Includes ability to handle stress and to interact with others so as to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment and minimize personal conflicts. · Travel to customer sites and perform maintenance, troubleshooting, installations, upgrades and repairs. · Remain proficient with the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial electrical control systems, electromechanical systems, instrumentation, and fluid power. · Operate, program, troubleshoot, repair, and modify medium-scale programmable automation equipment, industrial circuits and associated networks commonly found in the industry. · Work independently and collaboratively to maintain equipment and solve technical problems. Skills & Qualifications · Minimum of 5 years industrial maintenance, E-shop or heavy equipment experience required. Electro-Mechanical Technology Degree preferred. · Working knowledge of the following areas: nomenclature of all assigned equipment; industrial automation controllers, electronics, electrical-mechanical devices, transmission systems, interface units, AC motors, wiring diagrams and schematics, computers and inspection and digital devices. · Advanced understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanics. Functional knowledge of electrical components (PLC, relays, sensors, motors, drives, etc.). · PLC (AB & Siemens) design, program, mount, wire and troubleshooting knowledge required. · Panel building, including layout, fabrication, troubleshooting and installation on machinery with or without diagram. · Ability to apply standard evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard electrical / electronic techniques, procedures, and criteria. · Ability to read basic relay logic wiring/electrical diagram · Ability to use basic hand, power tools and electronic test equipment (multi-meters). · Possesses an interest in and an aptitude for mechanics, electronics, and electrical. · Performs general electrical work, i.e., conduit, wire sizing, pulling wire, and panel construction. · Must display competent ability to wire, assemble, and layout electrical/electronic systems in an extremely neat and professional manner and conform to wiring specifications. · Must be able to handle sensitive related and proprietary information in a confidential manner. · Excellent problem-solving and communication skills · Keeping detailed and accurate reports and documentation · Be able to work both in independently and in a team environment completing objectives efficiently with a sense of responsibility · Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem solving skills with focus on attention to detail. Good time-management skills · and international travel is required · Experience with MS Office and AutoCAD software required. Experience with SAP helpful. · Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations. Understand, practice and enforce safe work practices.
