Position Responsibilities:
- Panel layout: With print, verify all parts are accounted for then layout panel. Drill and tap mount all hardware and create label packet.
- Door area: With schematic, lay out door for components and cut, drill then mount hardware. Read and interpret drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders or reports.
- Harness area: By reading schematics, creates wire harness by pulling wires by gauge and lengths then number labels and plugs.
- Wire area: Wire panels using schematics for correct size wire and crimping appropriate connectors.
- Point-to-Point: With schematic, check all connection points, wire numbers, conductivity components and pull test. This is a Quality Control process done in panel shop by the panel shop.
Position Qualifications
Requirements
- Able to lift and/or move frequently up to 25lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Must have average manual dexterity with ability to use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and balance.
- Able to stand for prolonged periods on a concrete floor.
- Able to walk, reach with hands and arms, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Able to climb ladders and work in high areas.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to adjust focus, and color vision acuity.
Education and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 6 or more months’ electrical assembly experience, or equivalent combination of education & experience.
- Basic working knowledge of electricity and electro-mechanical equipment desired.
- Able to install all kinds of conduit.
- Able to operate and use wire pulling equipment, assorted tools & drills skillfully and safely.
- Able to read a tape measure.
- Must have demonstrated ability to communicate (speak, read, write) in English.
- Good math skills are preferred to interpret drawings and specifications.
- Able to work independently and with others and work under supervision of Electrical Department.
