EHR Manager

The EHR Manager is responsible for maintaining the Electronic Health Record and Practice Management application within the company. This role works with a diverse team of clinical staff, optical staff, and eye care providers to ensure that patients’ needs are met and expectations are exceeded. EHR Manager
The job in a nutshell: The EHR Manager will be responsible for training support for all new employees. This role will oversee changes and processes in relation to the EHR system, co-manage all compliance programs which regulate EHR usage, and work with IT to troubleshoot problems and manage change control processes. This role is the primary contact for EMR-related process and is responsible for collaborating with IT and Leadership to ensure product development and optimization. Ensures regulatory compliance and manages MIPS, associated registries and the attestation process.
Reports to: Chief Administrative Officer
Specific Duties
- Training all staff on the EHR systems; initial and ongoing.
- Stay apprised of government incentive requirements (MIPS); researching, developing, and implementing software enhancements and user workflows. Audit and report regularly.
- Oversee changes and processes in relation to the EHR system.
- Project management of EHR changes and updates.
- Regular engagement with end users to develop best practices and update workflows to improve efficiency and user and patient experience.
- Assist in maintenance of EHR related resources (intranet, training materials, etc).
- Complete attestation process in a timely manner. Work with CFO and Business Office Manager to track incentive payments.
- Seek out opportunities to improve efficiency of processes & propose ideas to Administrative Team.
- Participate in EHR/EPM Committee and Management Team meetings as requested.
- Aid in the coordination of the day-to-day operations, focusing on the delivery of efficient and quality services.
- Understand the essential activities for each site and measure, report, and help remedy any identified problems in collaboration with OES leadership.
- Ensure practices and procedures across clinics comply with applicable state and federal regulations.
- Meet regularly with managers and doctors to ensure alignment with organization objectives.
- Collaborate with OES leadership to develop, implement, and enforce OES and policies and procedures – meets regularly to maintain alignment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, relevant experience may be substituted.
- 1-3 years’ experience with EHR systems and clinical processes.
- Experience in medical office operations, experience with ophthalmology preferred
- Working knowledge of MIPS and other government incentive programs preferred
- Experience coordinating with internal and external stakeholders across multiple initiatives.
- Experience working with computer operating systems and software programs Operations & Planning.
