The Opportunity
Our Chicago franchise is looking for an ambitious and self-motivated Educational Relationship Manager to join our US team. Under the guidance of the Head, Global Business Development and Government Relations, the Educational Relationship Manager will play a critical role at leading the Schools Partnerships team and representing the company before clients in public school boards.
The Manager will support new business opportunities within the education sector in the United States of America, as needed. This is either a hybrid or remote based role, depending on the successful candidate's location. The role will support the Head in deepening relationships with schools, school boards and different levels of government.

Role Objectives

  • 60% Establish and deepen our partnership activities aligned to current sales opportunities with all Chicago Public Schools.
  • 30% Manage team of school account representatives.
  • 10% Inform business development strategies for government bids and awarded contracts.

Job Description*

  • Our Educational Relationship Manager will own the sales cycle from initial contact to close for both outbound prospecting and inbound leads.
  • Partnership – understanding, network, capability and positional and others PLUS sector development (origination & getting ahead of the game) with public schools and boards.
  • Engage with and manage our existing network of school partners.
  • Play a key role in advising on government bids application across the US.
  • Partner identification, engagement, alignment, management and orchestration in to bid opportunities.
  • Build relationships with other educational specialists.
  • Expand our partner and advisor network aligned to the creation and delivery of future opportunities and orchestrate our partner network to increase win-ability.
  • Define the SME requirements for key bids coming down the pipe and proactively scope contenders against a simple, but consistent set of principles – confirm partners and secure alignment within strategic frame.
  • Increase our pipeline and organic growth through targeted engagement and developing our relationship base with schools within school public boards, and government bodies.
  • Ensure all bid to contract handover regarding external partners is robust, documented and collaborative.
  • Use your deep understanding of client problems to generate ideas for new products.

Your Qualifications

  • Minimum one (5) years of experience working in sales, partnership management, market research, government relations (experience/ knowledge of the USA market is a must).
  • Graduate education in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Education, Public Policy, Communications or Relevant Experience.
  • Strong communication skills, able to present and influence effectively.
  • Spanish speaking is considered an asset.
  • Business savvy and previous experience in the education industry is preferred.
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close, in order to develop long-term partnerships.
