Responsibilities
  • Serve as the subject matter expert concerning use of Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA) and the GoArmyEd program.
  • Develop courses, curricula and programs to train new personnel and to meet current educational needs.
  • Collaborate with National Guard Personnel, State Education Services Officers and Education Services Specialists on educational needs.
  • Perform periodic reviews of budget and cost effectiveness of the FTA program.

    Basic Requirements 1720 IOR:
    I have a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in a field related to the work of the position such as Adult Education, of which at least 9 semester hours were in education courses. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

    I have a combination of education and experience which includes at least 24 semester hours in a field related to the work of the position such as Adult Education, of which at least 9 semester hours were in education courses, plus appropriate experience or additional education. My experience demonstrates a thorough understanding of the principles and practices underlying the work of this position, and understanding of the field comparable to that normally acquired through successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

    I have four years of experience that demonstrates a thorough understanding of the principles and practices underlying the work of this position. My experience demonstrates that I possess an understanding of the field comparable to that normally acquired through successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university.

    I have at least 1 full academic year of professional teaching experience in which I had full and primary responsibility, under general supervision, for instruction of assigned students in an accredited school or institution. My experience includes responsibility for preparing and presenting lessons and for evaluating students' progress, including a determination of the students' success or failure according to established criteria.

    GS-12: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.     This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service (GS-12 or equivalent).
