MV Transportation is seeking a DriveCam Manager to manager the overall DriveCam program in the organization. He/she is responsible to ensure that the DriveCam system, the analysts who view video clips generated from the system and operations support group work together to improve our overall driver safety and enhance the company's performance of our drivers. Also, establishes procedures and guidelines which enable the company to get the most benefit out of the program.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure all divisions are educated on the use of the system and do the following: within two (2) weeks prior to implementation, personally meet with the staff and drivers to ensure the smooth flow of communication exists. Alleviate concerns, address comments and/or suggestions, meet with the drivers and all organizations to demonstrate the use of the videos. Prepare the division for the coming installation so that they are aware and understand the system is being put into place to improve our overall safety performance as a company.Within one week after installation, personally contact staff to ensure they understand the procedure for reviews, ensure the installation is complete, assist and answer any questions.
- Oversee the DriveCam Supervisors and Analysts in the day-to-day operations.
- Maintain control of day-to-day activities of DriveCam team.
- Maintain a constant line of communication with the Risk Management Department in regards to accidents, unreported damage and serious events.
- Provide daily, weekly and monthly updates to Sr. Vice President, Safety and Training.
- Hire, train and counsel DriveCam employees on work related performance.
- Review general settings of system and enhance and improve sensitivity of system settings as needed.
- Coordinate communication between DriveCam Team and upper management. Ensure all communication problems are identified and worked out.
- Communicate MV's policies to the DriveCam Team and ensure they are being followed.
- Communicate with the Division any issues, concerns, recommendations, comments regarding the use and review of the DriveCam system. Ensure the division is compliant and that the division is getting the information they need in a timely manner.
- Communicate daily with any division that may have had a Serious Incident/Accident that requires the immediate removal from service of any driver. Ensure the proper steps have been completed by the division and offer any necessary support.
- Adhere to protocol in serious incident and accident reporting which may include forwarding of serious event clips.
- Establish and maintain direct liaison with all division managers, the safety group, regional VPs and Presidents regarding DriveCam issues.
- Establish milestones that can be gauged and measure the effectiveness of the program.
- Coordinate between team and IT Director on any technical issues such as (but not limited to) failure to receive images from a division, failure of a report, new report requirement or request, etc.
- Hire and train personnel in the supervisory and analytical review capacity and in the day to day operations of DriveCam event review and in the event review process and report procedures.
- Report concerns and recommendations to Senior Vice President of Safety in DriveCam issues.
- Maintain protocol procedures in reporting serious incidents and accidents to upper level management.
- Modify procedural requirements as needed in maintaining and expanding the DriveCam arena to new divisions.
- Maintain continuity between Risk Management and DriveCam in recording accident information. When an accident is witnessed, consult with the claims department for claim number. Maintain a running log of all accidents.
- Maintain line of communication with Regional Presidents and their designees in issues involving their area.
- Oversee the day to day operations of the entire DriveCam review and report process.
- Ensure that Divisions adhere to the procedures established in the General Manager's guide to DriveCam.
- Work daily in streamlining the entire DriveCam process with all Divisions and IT personnel.
Talent Requirements
- High School diploma and BS/BA degree preferred in Management, Safety Management or Transportation.
- Two (2) years experience working is a public transportation environment.
- Good writing and analytical skills.
- Able to manage and direct a team of subordinates.
