Provides excellent customer service while conducting donor registration, interviews, limited physical assessments, and monitoring donor/patient recovery. Responsible for the safe transportation of mobile crews, supplies, equipment and blood to and from mobile sites in a variety of mobile vehicles. Conducts a variety of equipment set-up and breakdown. Responsible for the proper storage and transport of collected units and samples from mobile sites to the Laboratory. Accountable for the daily maintenance of mobile vehicles as well. 1. Treats customers (internal and external) with dignity and respect in a friendly and professional manner. 2. Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOP’s and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of management. 3. Loads and safely transports mobile crew, equipment, and blood, ensuring cargo is evenly distributed, secured and stored for transportation in a variety of LifeStream vehicles. 4. Communicates appropriately with chair people and/or others at blood drive locations regarding placement of vehicles and equipment. 5. Performs multiple mobile break downs and returns. Unloads vehicles and restocks mobile staging areas consisting of supplies, materials, equipment, and ice chests in an orderly and safe manner. 6. Restocks and cleans mobile buses and trucks upon mobiles’ return. 7. Performs mobile cart set-up and break-down as needed. 8. Packs and transports blood products from mobile sites to processing laboratory. 9. Properly handles and disposes of medical waste according to standard operating procedures. 10. Performs tests such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, hematocrit, and hemoglobin. 11. Confidentially interviews donors regarding their medical history and current health status. 12. Assists with donor recovery and adverse reactions (i.e. drawing area and canteen). 13. Conducts daily equipment/supply set-up and breakdown, as well as Quality Control (QC) on specified instruments. 14. Accurately completes all required documentation on donor, QC, and cleaning records. 15. Accurately documents donor identification and registration information with LifeStream Software. 16. Performs daily vehicle maintenance to determine that vehicles are safe to use. 17. Actively recruits donors to various LifeStream programs (e.g. Apheresis) and promotions (e.g. special events), 18. Works at different draw locations as needed (i.e, Donor Centers and Mobiles). 19. Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned. EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. EXPERIENCE: One year of experience in material handling and driving is preferred. Experience in loading/unloading materials is preferred. Candidates with a minimum of 90 days of employment with LifeStream who have successfully completed and obtained their Commercial Driver’s License (Class A preferred) certification/training meet the minimum experience required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, ETC. Current CPR Certification, current California Driver’s License, and Commercial Driver’s License with Air Brake endorsement are required (Class A preferred). Emergency Medical Technician Certificate, or Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant Diploma, or Phlebotomy Certificate, or similar military experience/certification preferred. Current employees who are already working as a Mobile Driver with a current Class B Commercial Driver’s License meet the Driver’s License requirements.
