Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Development, Institutional Giving & Donor Relations, the Donor Services Manager is a key member of the development team at Feeding San Diego (FSD). The position is responsible for overseeing donor services, including database management, gift entry and reconciliation, acknowledgements and stewardship processes, project management, reporting, and prospect research.

In addition, the Donor Services Manager is responsible for achieving short-term and long-term financial goals for the annual giving program, including the coordination of direct response fundraising, and administration of the organization’s donor affinity groups.

  • Oversee the organization’s CRM database, including data integrity, timely gift acknowledgement process, accuracy of records, process improvement, data analysis, donor research, and staff training.
  • Facilitate a robust relationship management system to cultivate relationships with current donors and new prospects, using best practices in fundraising techniques.
  • Work closely with the Director of Development, Institutional Giving and Donor Relations to develop strategies and tactics to expand annual giving (gifts less than $1,000) with a focus on increasing annual gifts to support a healthy mid-level and major donor pipeline.
  • Manage in-house development projects, including solicitation mailings, stewardship reports, donor communications, and other development related projects.
  • Oversee the administration of The Grove, a giving circle for donors who make annual gifts of $1,000 and above.
  • Support frontline fundraising positions and executive leadership with their major donor portfolios, including oversight of report preparation and prospect research.
  • Oversee the direct response program, monthly donor program, online giving, and other tailored fundraising campaigns to achieve established financial goals.
  • Manage the organization’s online giving platform to achieve campaign goals and expand online giving through targeted campaigns and fund drives.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications department to create highly engaging and effective digital donor communications, solicitations, and campaigns.
  • Supervise and mentor the Donor Services Associate and Development Associate positions.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development, Institutional Giving and Donor Relations or Chief Philanthropy Officer

Qualifications
  • Strong writing, communication, and project management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience managing a Salesforce database; Salesforce Admin Certification preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills; ability to develop and sustain positive relationships with donors and volunteers
  • Strong research and analytical skills with an ability to synthesize complex information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, digital marketing platforms, wealth screening software, and research tools
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Effective in working well under pressure with tight deadlines


COVID-19 Update: This position is currently working remotely, but must be able to travel locally to the office as needed.
