***To be eligible for this position, you must commit to serve full-time for one year with Delridge Neighborhoods Development Association.***Delridge Neighborhoods Development Association provides resources and affordable housing to low income families in need. VISTA will plan programs in concert with the Housing Asset Manager, create best practice tool-kits, organize volunteers, and create a fund-development work plan in concert with the Development Director. The VISTA member will serve along with a cohort of VISTA members working to fight poverty in King County.
Member Duties : Delridge Neighborhoods Development Association is devoted to social, racial and environmental justice and are dedicated to preserving and increasing affordable housing for a range of incomes, enhancing the natural environment, and providing such vital resources as arts and cultural opportunities, education and youth programs for their neighbors. The Community Engagement and Communications Specialist VISTA will fight poverty by increasing the agency’s capacity to help families living in West Seattle and throughout Southwest Seattle gain familiarity with resources, build relevant programs and curriculum with the goal of connecting low-income children to educational resources and connecting families to educational and community resources to achieve long term economic stability. The VISTA will create best practice toolkits for increased academic engagement, create, share and finally implement a communications work plan in concert with the Development Director.
